Chapter 393 of the Texas Transportation Code makes it unlawful for any individual or entity to place and/or commission the placement of a sign on the right-of-way of a public road that is not otherwise authorized by law.  Our Office is authorized to take legal action to collect penalties of up to $1,000 per day per sign from those who illegally cause signs to be placed in the public right of way.

We train individuals to serve as Sign Rangers who after they receive certification from the County are permitted to remove signs.

Contact our Office at if you wish to receive information about becoming a Sign Ranger.
