MEDIA ADVISORY: Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan to Host Election Law Tele-Town Hall on Saturday

WHO: Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan, County Clerk Stan Stanart and J.R. Harris and Amy Nguyen with the Tax Assessor-Collector’s Voter Registration Department. 

WHAT:  The Harris County Attorney’s Office will host a tele-town hall to update election judges on the latest election law requirements. The discussion will include a briefing by election law experts from the County Attorney’s Office, the County Clerk’s Office and the Tax Assessor-Collector’s Voter Registration Department. In addition, election judges will have the opportunity to ask questions to clarify their early voting and Election Day duties.

The Harris County Attorney's Office represents the County, its departments, elected and appointed officials, and employees in all civil matters that involve county business. The Office represents the Harris County Hospital District, the Harris County Flood Control District, the Harris County Appraisal Review Board, and the Greater 911 Emergency Network, which are separate legal entities. The Office also represents the State of Texas in mental health commitments and children's protective services cases and assists Harris County in administration of the guardianship program, which cares for elderly and disabled individuals who are unable to care for themselves.
