Harris County Attorney’s Office Investigator involved in shooting

An investigator with the Harris County Attorney’s Office was involved in a fatal shooting last night.

Investigator Anthony Yet shot and killed a man who was firing into a restaurant. No one else was injured.

The shooting happened at about 11 p.m. last night at the Mien Tay Quan Restaurant at 13442 Bellaire Blvd. While Investigator Yet was having dinner with friends, two men came in and began arguing. Yet was asked by the restaurant owner to calm the men down. Yet escorted the two men out of the restaurant.

After Yet returned to the restaurant, one of the men outside began shooting into the building. About 20 people were inside the restaurant. As the man came through the door of the restaurant, Yet shot him. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Yet has been an investigator with the County Attorney’s Office since 2013 and has been a certified peace office since 1992.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Department and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office are reviewing the incident as an officer-involved shooting. While the incident is under review, the County Attorney’s Office will have no further comment.
