The Office of Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan has partnered with the Harris County Public Library to host a series of informational presentations at the West University Senior Center through December 2019.

“The informational series was developed in partnership with the Harris County Public Library as a means to educate Harris County citizens on several legal matters that affect our community on a daily basis,” said Community Outreach Coordinator Debbie Dillard.

"The Harris County Attorney's Office Informational Series has been a wonderful addition to our programming at the West University Branch Library,” said Marilyn McPheron, branch manager at West University Branch Library.

The series schedule is:

  • September 18, 2019: Your Rights As a Voter, with Special Assistant County Attorney Doug Ray

  • October 16, 2019: Harris County Law Library Resources & Services with Assistant Law Librarian Heather Holmes

  • November 20, 2019: Getting Rid of Businesses that Attract Crime with Assistant County Attorney Tuan Nguyen

  • December 18, 2019: Open Carry with Assistant County Attorney Brian Quintero

The presentations are part of County Attorney Vince Ryan’s Speakers Program in which Assistant County Attorneys provide presentations of interest to county residents. As the largest County Attorney's Office in Texas representing the third largest county in the United States, Ryan's office deals with virtually every aspect of civil law.

"We represent the people of Harris County by and through their elected officials and we want people to know what we do and how we can help," Ryan said.

“What makes this series special is that it's purely informational, and nobody is trying to sell you anything! Our patrons have really been enjoying learning about the services available to them in Harris County,” added McPheron.

The presentations are open to the community and will begin at 11:30 a.m. No registration will be required.
